Great for people who want some advanced...

Great for people who want some advanced configuration! I have been using 123-reg to host domain names for several years and have only good things to say. I have also recently purchased a VPS and an SSL certificate from them, both have been great. I have recently switched VPS from Webfusion (their parent company) to 123-reg to take advantage of CentOS6 and cPanel at a great price. It's hosted in England which means low latency and support during working hours. Both VPS's are in the same location and uptime has been very good with only 2 small blips. Whenever I have had any support queries I have had a clear response that has answered the question straight away. Their abuse department also looked through some evidence of portscanning. All in all a great experience so far.

VPS works a treat...

VPS works a treat, very scalable and excellent value for money. Support were very helpful too. Takes a bit of setting up but well worth it.

A confusing email prompted a query...

A confusing email prompted a query. Replies were mostly irrelevant for so long I came close to moving to another domain name manager. I was not impressed - it took several exchanges, each less relevant than the previous, before a sensible answer came. I suspect all answers are made by a computer robot which eventually strikes the right answer - there's no feeling of human intervention any where. Although slightly more expensive, Ill be directing my clients to a different domain name manager in future. No real communication; computer generated until one is driven up the wall; almost any other domain name manager I suspect would have better support; No more recommendations to my clients in future - Henry - Web site developer extraordinairre - p*****d off.

The website is really easy to manage...

The website is really easy to manage, gives you full control of your domain names for free - including full DNS control and they were really helpful even when setting up my domains to work with another host like Blogger. I couldn't do it myself even though I tried, so I sent the customer support an email to request help. In no time at all, they'd sorted it out and my site was synced perfectly. I've had plenty of experience with virtual online businesses and this is the first after Amazon where I've had such a rapid and effective help response. I've got all my domains with 123 and am happy to recommend it to anyone else.

Custormer service was appaling...

Custormer service was appaling. Both on the phone and their support portal. Never felt the need to write a review but go through a different domain company if possible. We had a domain we renewed over a year ago. Money was taken off of us, but it was never renewed and expired without our knowledge. Was a alot of effort to get reinstated, we were lucky they were not snapped up by a competitor! Go to other review sites for a full picture, 9 times out of 10 the five star reviews are done by their employees, and its obvious because they are rubbish.
