PoundHost Internet Ltd. was formed in 2001 as a direct result of the need for high quality, cost effective internet hosting. PoundHost started by offering web hosting at £1 per Megabyte (hence the name) and we continue to focus on providing the most reliable and cost-effective server and co-location solutions, backed up by class-leading technical support and a first class infrastructure.
At PoundHost we don’t rely on third party support or second tier network providers, we have our own fully dedicated 24-hour staff located inside the BlueSquare data centres with our own resilient fibre network provided by our sister company BlueConnex.

What unique selling points do you offer?
With Poundhost being part of the BlueSuqare Data Group we have the ability to accommodate any size of client, from people who have a single server or VPS right through to clients that require a dedicated data floor. Being privately owned gives us the ability to be flexible on pricing and support where other hosts could struggle to deliver. We have technical staff on-site 24/7/365 who are able to respond to many issues you may have. The BlueSquare Data Group brings peace of mind to its customers as it means there is just the single point of contact for all network and hardware related questions.
Describe the services you offer?
Poundhost deals with single server collocation plus the dedicated and virtual server rental side of the BlueSquare Data Group portfolio. Along with the other companies inside the group we can tailor a solution that will fit both your needs and your budget.
Describe your target market?
Our target market can be anything from a single server customer on a tight budget such as a smaller gaming company right up to a large reputable hosting or provider based business. SME’s may use it as a fail over from their internal business requirements for server backups or even as their main servers. We aim to build Poundhost in the direction that will benefit these extremes and everyone in-between.
How is your company planning for the future?
Poundhost and the BlueSquare Data Group are always looking at ways to lower the costs of the company so that we can pass these cost savings on to our customers. With the growth of the company unaffected by the recession we will continue to grow to fill our 4 facilities and beyond.
What benefits can you offer your customers?
Clients of Poundhost get the support they need when they need it. As we own the network that all our servers use there is very little outside of our control that we can’t deal with. Our dedicated server panel gives clients the ability to reboot and even reinstall their servers at the touch of a button with no need for human interaction at the data centre. There is also an API for this system so if they are a reseller they can pass this benefit on to their clients.
How do you support your customers?
All Poundhost support requests require a support ticket to be raised on our system. Once a ticket is raised on our system then different methods of support can be used such as telephone or hands on support. The reason a ticket must be placed beforehand is that it verifies you are the account holder and it starts a paper trail of what work is done. We have staff onsite 24/7/365 who can offer physical hands on support to your server, or provide you with KVM-over IP should you be sensitive about handing out your login details.
